Multiple Sclerosis

Why Panckarma is recommended for Multiple sclerosis?
MS is an autoimmune disease. Panchakarma proved to be the most beneficial in any autoimmune disease. Intake of specific herbal formulations for long time after performing Panchakarma treatments gives tremendous result. In this disease we mainly follow Brihmana Vasthi (medicated enema-nourishing type) and Nasya (nasal medication) treatment as main panchakarma procedure along with Abhyanga (Ayurveda massage therapy using medicated oils), Lepa (application of herbal paste to whole body, head), Taila vestana (applying band of cloth over body soaked in specific herbal Ayurvedic oil), pouring of medicated oil to head etc.
Depending upon the specific body type and type of illness the treatment may vary.

Are there any chances of recurrence of MS after this treatment?
Following proper panchakarma and post panchakarma treatment eliminates this condition without any recurrence, post panchakarma treatment for long time we can prevent the recurrence for many years. Post Panchakarma herbal formulation having vata palliating property having immuno-modulator effect will be prescribed for long term. However chances of recurrence are there depending upon the body type, type of illness, environmental exposures, food habits etc, but by once again following the panchakarma and post panchakarma treatments regulating the disease is possible.

Is the damage already happened to the brain can be reversed?
Yes to some extent we can correct the lost neurological functions, but complete reversal may or may not be possible. Reversal of lost function is mainly dependant on the extent of demyelination, extent of damage to the neurons etc. But still using the CENTRASTIM treatment, which stimulates central nervous system and encourages neuroplasticity we can expect maximum possible recovery.

Who can take the above treatment?
All the patients suffering from MS can take this treatment.

Whether this treatment can be taken along with moder DMRD drugs, who are already under methotrexate or Salazaline, or HCQS, or TNF alfa inhibitors, interferons etc.?
Yes this can be taken along with modern medicines. Long term postpanchakarma treatment becomes very much essential in MS, many may require Ayurveda herbal extracts for years together, we recommend herbal formulations for life time especially in MS.

What is the complete course of treatment for Panckakarma treatment as inpatient?
21-45 days’ treatment, in severe cases we recommend up to 80 days’ treatment. But in mild cases we can perform this treatment in 14 days.
